Calcutta is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in St. Clair Township, Columbiana County, with 3,941 people at the 2020 census. It sits near the center of the township in the southeastern corner of the county at roughly 1,129 feet. The community extends southwest to the U.S. Route 30 expressway and east and north as far as Little Beaver Creek, touching the Pennsylvania state line where the creek runs. Historically a rural town, Calcutta developed in the twentieth century as businesses moved out from neighboring East Liverpool.
