Alliance, OH
Your Neighborhood Roofing Contractor in Alliance, OH
Alliance is a Stark County city of roughly 21,672 residents (2020 census), ZIP code 44601. It sits right at the Stark-Mahoning county line in Northeast Ohio. It's a city with real history behind its rooflines — founded in 1854 by the merger of three smaller communities.
Alliance grew into a manufacturing and railroad hub, and that history still shows in the housing stock block to block.
TriState Home Consulting Group is a PA HIC registered #PA203687 roofing contractor serving Alliance. You get the same honest work on every job, whether it's a single repair or a full replacement.
We work two ways: retail jobs for homeowners who know what they want, and insurance claims for storm-damaged properties. Both get the same trained crew and the same commitment from first nail to final cleanup.
Whatever your roof situation, we'll come out, look at it, and give you a straight answer — free, with no pressure.
Why Alliance Roofs Take a Beating Year-Round
Alliance sits more than 50 miles from Lake Erie. That's far enough south to skip the lake-effect snow totals that hit shoreline communities. What it does see is the same freeze-thaw cycling common across the Midwest.
A cold snap drops snow, a thaw follows, and meltwater refreezes overnight. The cycle repeats through the winter months.
That repeated freeze-thaw action forces moisture under shingle edges and works flashing loose. It stresses roofing systems hardest on homes without adequate attic ventilation. Alliance's older housing stock, tied to the city's manufacturing and railroad-era growth, takes the worst of it.
Spring and summer bring a different threat. Convective storm systems tracking into Northeast Ohio produce hail and wind events most years. Alliance's older homes are often already due for replacement by the time a storm hits.
Homeowners frequently tell us they had "no idea" there was storm damage. The evidence is subtle: granule buildup in gutters, or bruising on shingles that only shows under raking light. Lifted shingles often get assumed to be just loose.
Was your home in the path of a hail or wind event in the past twelve months? A free inspection documents the damage while it is still fresh.
Roofing Services We Provide in Alliance, OH
Our work in Alliance covers the full range of residential roofing. That runs from homes near downtown to newer construction on the edges of town.
Asphalt shingle replacement is our most common job: complete tear-off, deck inspection, and replacement of any rot found. We also handle targeted asphalt repairs — missing courses, failed valleys, and step flashing failures.
Beyond asphalt, we install and repair metal roofing systems — standing seam, corrugated, and metal shingles. It's a practical long-term option for homeowners who want efficient snow shedding.
Some of Alliance's older homes still carry original slate or tile roofing. We handle that work with matching sourcing and preservation-conscious repair.
We also install seamless aluminum gutter systems and gutter guards. They're sized for the mature tree coverage across Alliance's established neighborhoods and its 24 city parks. Every exterior project starts with a free inspection and a detailed written estimate before a single nail is driven.
Storm Damage Insurance Claims in Alliance
Insurance claim work is a big part of what we do in Alliance and across Stark County. It's where TriState's approach makes the biggest difference.
When a hail or wind event hits, your carrier sends an adjuster who usually produces a low estimate. The first estimate routinely misses line items, uses outdated pricing, and ignores matching provisions for discontinued shingle lines.
We've seen it hundreds of times and know exactly how to push back. When TriState handles your Alliance storm claim, we build a complete supplement from scratch. Every hail impact and wind lift gets documented by photograph and measurement.
Every code upgrade and overhead-and-profit argument gets written in language the carrier's reviewer can't easily dismiss.
We work with Erie Insurance, Allstate, State Farm, Progressive, USAA, Nationwide, Farmers, and Auto-Owners. We also work with every other carrier writing residential policies in Ohio. Alliance homeowners routinely recover significantly more than the initial adjuster estimate once we get involved.
You pay your deductible. We handle the rest of the process.

The city was founded in 1854 by the merger of three smaller communities. It grew into a manufacturing and railroad hub.
Alliance is officially nicknamed the "Carnation City." The Ohio General Assembly gave it that designation in 1959, tied to Ohio's state flower, the scarlet carnation. Dr. Levi L.

Alliance's history is on display in three National Register landmarks. They are Glamorgan Castle, the Haines House (a restored Underground Railroad home), and the Mabel Hartzell historic home.
The city is served by Amtrak's Floridian, which replaced the Capitol Limited on this route in November 2024. Local transit runs through SARTA.
Alliance is part of the Canton-Massillon metropolitan area, with Stark County's seat, Canton, about 16 miles away. The city maintains 24 parks totaling roughly 220 acres, including the Butler-Rodman Park complex at about 60 acres. Kent State University and Stark State College are both within a short drive.
